Privacy policy
We collect almost nothing. Your code is processed in your browser and never sent to our servers. We store your email if you join the waitlist. Prompt rewrites go via Anthropic's Claude API — that call includes the text you typed but doesn't include any identifying info about you.
1. Who we are
PackCode (the "service") is an independent project operated from the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@packcode.dev.
2. What we collect
We collect the minimum necessary to run the service:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily join the waitlist or sign up for an account.
- Anonymous usage data — page views and button clicks via privacy-respecting analytics. No tracking cookies, no cross-site tracking, no IP storage.
- Request metadata — when you use the prompt optimiser, we briefly process your input via Anthropic's API. We log the IP address for rate-limiting only, and we don't store the input or the response after the request completes.
3. What we DON'T collect
- We don't read, store, or transmit your code, folders, or repos. All file parsing happens client-side, in your browser.
- We don't use third-party tracking cookies.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't profile you or build behavioural models.
4. Third-party services we use
- Anthropic (Claude API) — when you generate an optimised prompt, your input text is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic's privacy terms apply to that request. They state they do not train on API requests by default.
- Loops — handles waitlist email collection.
- Vercel — hosts the website. Vercel may log request metadata for security/uptime per its own policy.
- Privacy-first analytics — anonymous, cookieless visitor counts (Plausible or equivalent).
5. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Ask us what data we hold about you
- Ask us to delete your data
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe)
Email hello@packcode.dev and we'll handle it within 30 days.
6. How long we keep data
- Waitlist emails: until you unsubscribe.
- Account data (when accounts launch): for as long as your account exists, plus 30 days after deletion for backups.
- Rate-limit logs: 24 hours, then deleted.
7. Children
PackCode is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify users by email.
9. Complaints
If you're in the UK and unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
